A while ago, when he was the actor Boris Johannes Pietsch at Staatstheater Saarbrücken, John Peach recorded „Wet Dog“ in his bedroom, between his performances, equipped just with a Zoom H4 recorder, an acoustic guitar, a kettle, some rice, wooden sticks, a glas, a tiny drum, a triangle, a kalimba, brush and paper, some rain outside and a harmonica.

This quiet and tender Album is like a meditation, kind of experimental and with a touch of Indie Folk. It has some nice stereo effects. Put on your headphones, relax and chill through the sounds…

The songs developed mainly out of directly recorded improvisation on the 4 track recorder. In two titles you can still hear the gibberish singing which, for John Peach, comes always before writing the lyrics. On one track you even hear the ringing of the telephone and his answering machine.

The Album then was mixed and mastered on a 16-track digital mixer, the Yamaha AW4416, what took some time, for it was not that easy to give the material some brilliance. A lot of automated EQing was mandatory.

The song „Water the Light“ was written for his Girlfriend, living far far away in Vienna. It is about this separation and the strong connection you feel from the far.

Years later he met two musicians in Munich and after some jam-sessions, they sat in a pub where John told them about his experiments. This brought up the idea of releasing this album to the publik.

Meanwhile John Peach owns a professionally equipped home studio, where his alter ego does voice acting. And on that night in the pub the three musicians decided to go on with that musical experiments. So maybe we will soon get to hear more of John Peaches music…
